Betty Jean Reeves Richards

Mrs. Betty Jean Reeves Richards, 81, entered into rest Monday, August 29, 2011.


She was a resident of Lake Charles and a member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She attended Wednesday morning Bible Study. During her early years, Mrs. Richards taught pre-school at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church.


She was devoted to her family and she loved everyone. She always made people feel special and always gave them encouragement.


Mrs. Richards will be missed dearly by her family, friends and all that knew and loved her. She will especially miss spending time with her dear friends.


She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Guy L. Richards Jr.; four children, Linda Elaine Richards of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Susan Richards Mahoney of Lake Charles, Karen Richards Krajicek of Lake Charles, and Guy Reeves Richards of Lake Charles; one brother, Charles Wayne Reeves of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Dr. John Richards Frederick, Claire Lucille Kendall, Maxwell Richards Mahoney, Margaret Elizabeth Mahoney, Gabriel Michael Krajicek, Kimberly Clare Krajicek and Michael Richards Krajicek.


A memorial service will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 2:30PM at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The Rev. Jack Myers will officiate. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

I lift up Karen and her living family in prayer so that they may embrace each other in the faith, hope and love that only the One God and His Son Jesus can give.
