Billy J. Monk, 82, of Westlake passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in his residence.

Billy was born in Dallas, TX on October 25, 1928. A member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, he retired after 40 years of service to ATT. Billy loved his grandchildren, fishing, gardening and above all, God and his country. He prayed for his family and country.

Preceding in death were his parents, John Henry and Laura Robert Monk, and a daughter, Laura Jane Monk. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Conner and Catherine Nunez, both of Ragley; a son, William D. Monk of Lake Charles; sister, Johnnie Lyles of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Nigel Pierrottie, Laura Jane Nunez and Parker Hanson Conner; and great-grandson, Jason Allen Conner.

At Billy's request, no visitation is planned. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2010 at Highland Memory Gardens with Rev. Wayne Dartez officiating.
