Charles William Bill Morris

Charles William "Bill" Morris, 81, of Lake Charles died at 2:10 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 in his residence.


Mr. Morris was born on April 21, 1930 in Lufkin, TX to Bertha Stine and E.H. Morris, Sr. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles and was a member of St. Martin de Porres. He served in the Louisiana National Guard. Mr. Morris belonged to Plumbers Local #106 for 58 years.


He loved watching football with his family on Sundays.


Those left to cherish his memory are his sweetheart and loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Pizanie Morris; a son, Tim Morris; a daughter, Terri Morris; five grandchildren, Donna, Randall, and Nathan Morris, and Charles and Christopher Duplechin; and one great grandson, Eli Charles Vaughn.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, E.H. (Buddy) Morris, Jr.


The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. VanSnider and to Odyssey Hospice for their loving care given to Mr. Morris.


Donations may be made in his memory to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church Building Fund,


A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin and Rev. Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will be in Benoit Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM in the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be: Randall and Nathan Morris, Joey and Chris Duplechin, Mike Thibodeaux, and Johnny Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donna Morris, Eli Vaughn, Eldred Richard, Muhannad Chabkoun, and Norman Doucet, Jr.

  5. Your all in my prayers. Your home was my home away from home as a kid and Mr Bill was larger than life. I wont ever forget always feeling welcomed in your home, his whistle at sundown and all the things he did for us to have fun and just be kids.
