Clyde R. DeRouen, 83, of Sulphur passed away, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at local hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born in Hayes, LA on June 22, 1927. Mr. DeRouen enjoyed playing music, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He retired as Plant Manager of Riviana Foods, and worked for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department for fifteen years.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Opal Corsey DeRouen; one son, Troy DeRouen and wife Connie; four daughters, Sharon McFarlain and husband Jerry, Laura Edgar and husband David, Jackie Davis and husband James, Kathy Franklin and husband Gilbert; eight grandchildren, Erica Babineaux, Alyson Goodfriend, Christy Pousson, Christopher McFarlain, Leslie Davis, Morgan DeRouen, Kennedy and Reagan Franklin; five great grandchildren, Dylan and Dawson Goodfriend, Kaleigh Babineaux, Anna and Caroline Pousson; and one brother, E. J. DeRouen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Anna Mae (Hebert) DeRouen.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gerard Boulanger will officiate. Burial will be in DeRouen-Lorrain Cemetery in Hayes. Visitation will be, Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 PM, and continue from 8:00 AM until time of services, Wednesday, in the funeral home.
Jackie and Family, My deepest sympathy to all of you. You were so blessed to have your Daddy with you for so many years. God bless you all as you go through one of life's most difficult challenges I pray that His comfort surrounds you today and always. You are all in my thoughts.

Troy, Your dad lived a very full life. He loved you and was very proud of you. He will always have a special place in my heart. We all had some good times togethera and I'm sure he has a pot of beans going while dad is cooking a sauce.
