Darrell Joseph Young

Darrell Joseph Young, 64, of Lake Charles died Saturday December 11, 2010 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.


Darrell was born May 1, 1946 in Lake Charles. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Rita Marie (LeJeune) Young and a granddaughter, Tristin Dale Young. Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara Royer Young, Lake Charles; three sons, Ricci Alvyn Young and wife Barbara, Jason Paul Young and wife Heather, and Damon Wells Young, all of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; one brother, David Young, Lake Charles; two sisters, Carol Comeaux and husband John, Lake Charles and Dorothy Johnston and husband Douglas, Iowa.


Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday December 13, 2010 with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 9:00 Am until 10:15 AM at the funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Jessing Officiating. Burial will follow in Consolota Cemetery.
