Donald Arthur Stineff

Donald Arthur "Don" Stineff, 73, of Longville died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the comfort of his home.


Mr. Stineff was born in DeRidder, LA, raised and educated and lived his young adult life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Marion High School. He has lived the past thirty years in Longville. Mr. Stineff worked as an operator for twenty five years before retiring from Basell, formerly Hercules Powder Company.


Mr. Stineff enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, bird watching and reading. He was an avid outdoorsman whom also enjoyed his farm, having raised a variety of animals over the years. He will be most remembered as a devoted family man.


He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Buller Stineff of Longville; two sons, David Stineff and wife Beverly of Lake Charles and Blaine Stineff and wife Vicky of Reeves; four daughters, Donna Higginbotham and husband Johnny of Westlake, Tammy Abney and husband Thomas, Sr. of and Jennifer Gore and husband Wayne, all of DeRidder and Megan Emmerson of Longville; seventeen grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; twenty three step great- grandchildren; sixteen step great- great- grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Stineff and wife Linda of Dequincy; two sisters, Barbara Weigand of Longville and Earline Trim and husband Steve of Lake Charles and two sister- in- laws, Betty Scranton of Longville and Barbara Buller of Lake Charles.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Weick Stineff.


Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
