Donald Joseph Landry

Donald Joseph Landry, 72, of Lake Charles died at 3:50 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in a local hospital.


Mr. Landry was a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. He has lived in the Lake Charles area since 1955. Mr. Landry attended Iowa High School. He was a Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and the Taiwan Straits. Mr. Landry worked as an electrician for many years and was a member of IBEW 861. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #1 and the VFW Post #2130 in Lake Charles. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to cajun music, fishing, hunting and spending time with his loving family.


Donald is survived by his loving partner of 17 years Rosa Luquette of Lake Charles, one son, Donald Paul Landry and wife Amy of Sulphur, two daughters; Lisa Landry Bourque and son-in-law Chad of Lake Charles, Tina Landry Dutile and husband Jess, of Lake Charles, three brothers; Clyde Landry and wife Janice of Alta Loma, California, Daniel Landry and Leonard Landry both of Lake Charles, one sister, Mary Landry Bruno and husband Don of Lake Charles, four grandchildren; Kristopher Kelly, Kayla Bertrand, Elijah Dutile, and Jett Dutile.


He is preceded in death by one son Michael Urdiales, and his father Clyde Landry and his mother Hazel Breaux Duncan Gauthreaux.


His funeral will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 3:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Eric Kober will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday at 11:00 AM until the time of services.
