Dorethea Fabacher Ory, 79, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:10 PM on Monday, October 16, 2023 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Ory was born on August 13, 1944 in Westlake where she was raised and was a graduate of Westlake High School. She moved to Lake Charles in 1967 where, in her earlier years, she was a bookkeeper for Curtis Mathes TV and a floral designer for Louis Florist.

She had a passion for interior design and gardening. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Billy Ory of Lake Charles; sons, Todd Ory (Nicole), Tim Ory (Sandra), and Shawn Ory all of Lake Charles; siblings, Florence Stine of Westlake, Paul Fabacher of Austin, Barbara Kwitkowski of Westlake, Nicky Fabacher (Donna) of Moss Bluff, John Fabacher (Judy) of Dallas, Hal Fabacher (Lindy) of Westlake, Christie Olivier (Dale) of Westlake, Linda Seal (Robert) of Houston, and Rena Kuckow of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Ashley Verrett (Derick), Kelsey Martin, Aiden Ory, and Sarah Ory; and one great grandson, Nolan Verrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Effi Fabacher; brother, Ricky Fabacher; and sister, Stella Burnett.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Eastridge Baptist Church, 5400 LA 397, Lake Charles, LA 70607. The Rev. Alan Weishampel will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
