E. M. Preacher Baggett

E.M. "Preacher" Baggett, age 99, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at a local hospital.

A resident of Lake Charles, Mr. Baggett was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Conoco after many years of service there. Preceding him in death was his wife, Beulah Baggett, a brother, Lloyd Baggett, and a sister, Ethel Weeks.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Baggett of Lake Charles; a sister, Melva Penner of San Angelo, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank a special friend of Mr. Baggett, Susan Janies of Sulphur.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Francis LeRocque will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
