Elaine Marie Landry Coldiron, 82, went home to be with her Lord on May 10, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 18, 1940, in Lake Charles, LA to the late Wanda Landry and Belin Landry, Sr.
Growing up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Elaine spent many joyful summers at the family camp at Big Lake. After enjoying her high school years at La Grange High School in Lake Charles, Elaine married Cleo Cooper, Sr. of Yoakum, TX, and raised their children, Lezlie and Lonnie. She enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as working as a school secretary, real estate agent, and interior decorator.
She was later remarried to Don Coldiron and gained Nancy and Kim as children. Elaine and Don spent over 45 wonderful years together. They enjoyed living in several different cities together and settled in Houston, TX. During those years she thrived on supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren. Elaine was a member of Spring Baptist Church Klein campus and loved worshipping with her church family.
Elaine spent her life loving God and her family and friends. She was an adamant encourager of everyone she met, never failing to speak positive words. Elaine often referred to herself as a “people person,” and that was exactly how she lived. She genuinely cared about people.
Her love for her Lord was evident to everyone, providing a beautiful example of living a life for Christ in the way she treated others and the principles she held close. Elaine’s legacy will be measured not in earthly wealth or status, but rather in the fact that she allowed the Lord to use her life in everyday service to Him by focusing on others.
Elaine is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Newcomer Landry; her father, Belin Landry, Sr., and her brother, Robert (Bobby) Landry. She is survived by her husband, Don Coldiron; daughter, Lezlie Cooper Price; son, Lonnie Cleo Cooper, Jr. (Polly); daughter, Nancy Coldiron Ferry (Stephen); and son, Kim Coldiron (Susan); grandchildren, Leah Price Jimenez (Emmett), Drew Price, Derrick Price (Katie), Hunter Cooper (Mary Grace), Carley Cooper Waddell (Ryan), Bryce Ferry (Jenni), Brogan Ferry (Lexi), Brynna Ferry, Elizabeth Coldiron, Matthew Coldiron (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Evan Jimenez, Emma Jimenez, Nyx Wilder Cooper, and Addie Ferry; brother, Belin Landry, Jr. (Joyce), and sister, Sonia Landry Page (Charles).
