Elena Doris Goshorn, 57, of Lake Charles, died at 10:02 PM Tuesday October 5, 2010, in her residence.
She was born February 23, 1953 to Edward and Doris Goshorn in Champagne, Ill.
Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, brother, Edward Goshorn and sister-in-law, Wendy Goshorn. Survivors include a brother, Ernest Goshorn, Lake Charles and many dear friends that she considered her extended family and a beloved cat named "Gray Boy".
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service officiated by Rev. Kent Barbham being at 4:00 PM.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice, especially Melinda and Lisa for the kindness, compassion and care given to Elena during her illness.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the family for Elena's final expenses would be greatly appreciated.

Ernie, I lost contact with Elena several years ago–she told me by phone that she was moving north to stay with you and your wife. She was a sweet person and loved you very much. I still have home movies of us playing together on 6th Street. So sorry to hear of her passing.
I remember growing up with Elena because I lived around the corner from her. We were childhood friends attended the same schools (Rosteet Lake Charles High). She was even in my 1st grade class I have our class picture. She was always a very sweet kind person.
