Elsie Leonora McCoy Worack

Elsie Leonora McCoy Worack died Sunday April 9, 2023.

Elsie was born November 16, 1933 in Whistler, Alabama. She moved to Louisiana in 1944. Elsie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 4th, 1969. She was known as a zealous minister of the good news from that point on. Elsie entered into the full-time service and served as a regular pioneer for well over 40 years.

One of her happiest days was Febuary 27th, 1988 when she married Fred Worack. They were happily married for 16 years until Fred's death. Together they enjoyed being a part of the Oak Harbor, Washington congregation, as well as Sulphur and Westlake, Lousiana congregations for many years. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Worack; her mother, Alma Grace Kelly; and siblings, David McCoy, Douglas Kelly, Jeanette Johnson, and Maxine Kelly.

Elsie is survived by her siblings, Peggy Meche, Kathleen Stoker, John McCoy, and C.M. Kelly. Additionally, she is survived by Larry and Connie Worack, their children Troy (Pammy) Worack and Andrea (Jason) Hanauer, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Elsie had the joy of being a great grandmother to five Worack grandchildren, as well as great-great grandmother to two Worack grandchildren and Grandma Elsie will be missed. 

Elsie will also be dearly missed by her close friend Rose Marie Gaspard. Elsie had the privilege of studying the Bible with Roses's daughters (Michelle, Darice, Ginger, and Charolette) and she cherished each of them. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Westlake Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  The officiant will be Jerry Broussard.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
