Evelyn Cheever, 87, of Lake Charles, died Saturday December 11, 2010 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Cheever; daughter, Wendi Stewart; and grandsons, Dion Comeaux and Jody Lavergne. She is survived by her daughters, Sue McCullough and husband Terry and Vickey Winn; son, Dudley Winn and wife Jacque; stepdaughter, Terri Boudreaux; grandchildren, Dennis Lavergne, Chastity Mire, and John Winn; step grandchildren, Cristi Richard and Tiffany Brasseaux; nine great grandchildren; brother, J.W. Murphy; and sister, Jodie Albright.
No Service are planned. Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

My husband and I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Evelyn. We wanted to share with you something that has brought us comfort at a similar time in our lives. John 11: 14-44 show us a wonderful example of what is to come, the resurrection, when Jesus resurrected Lazarus here on earth, before the very eyes of those who loved. We can only imagine the tears of joy when we too, will be reunited with our dear loved ones again. (John 5:28,29) Evelyn will surely be missed by many of those who's lives she shared, remember the experiences you shared together and learn from them, hold them dear to your hearts and cherish them. May you find comfort from your personal copy of the scriptures and those who surround you at this very difficult time. Our sincere condolences to all of you who knew and loved her, take care.
