Felix Bob Lemons

Felix Earl "Bob" Lemons, 75, of Lake Charles died at 1:25 AM Saturday, October 10, 2010 in a local hospital.


Bob was born August 29, 1935 in Fayette, Alabama and has lived in Lake Charles for the past 32 years. He was the owner and operator of Bob Lemons Painting Inc. for the past 32 years. Bob loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, chess and play pool any chance he could get. He also loved spending time in his yard keeping it up. Bob was a member of the Power Church in Lake Charles. He also attended Glad Tidings.


He is survived by his wife of 38 years Mertha Rodman Lemons of Lake Charles, daughter Lawanna Kay Lemons, son (Bobby) Robert Earl Lemons and his wife Kelly of Kansas City KS, and stepdaughter Genne Goetsch Queenan and husband Tyson of Lake Charles, two brothers Jerry Lemons of Lake Charles and Chuck (Charles) Lemons of Arab, Alabama, four sisters: Faye Dunn of Tuscaloosa, AL, Sarah Fox of Madison, AL, Sue Hudson of Decatur, AL, and Audrey Ary of Spanish Fort, AL, 12 grandchildren Kelton, KayLyn Kassidy and Ashley Lemons, Mikayla and Karli Lemons, Ryan, Kaylin, Lindsey, Luke, Zachary, and Emily Queenan.


Mr. Lemons is preceded in death by his parents Aquilla and David Lemons, two brothers Doc Lemons and Cecil Lemons, two sisters Martha Lemons and Louise Coe.


A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Bertrand will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Toronto, Kansas. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.

  1. Mertha, I am sorry to have read that Bob passed, but we know he is in a better place.He will never have pain or suffer. Call me if you need anything we will get together soon. Love you my dear friend.

  2. My heart is there with you all, although I am here in Tuscaloosa. I love you guys so much and wish that I could have told Uncle Bob one more time that I loved him. I will never forget him. He was special. To Mertha and the children…nothing can take our memories of him….I pray that God will heal your broken hearts and bind up your wounds.
