Florine Belaire Walker, 93, of Lake Charles died Thursday, October 7th, 2010 in the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Walker was born to Telesmare and Rita Belaire in Gueydan, LA and has lived nearly 85 years in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of St. Charles Academy. Her father was the owner and operator of Belaire's Drive In.
Mrs. Walker enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking and serving family, friends and many of the young servicemen of Chennault Air Base. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. Mrs. Walker was also a faithful servant of God with an overwhelming belief in the power of prayer. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
She leaves to honor her memory, two daughters, Kathy Walker Breaux of Lake Charles and Carol Lynn Walker Perry of Divide, CO; one son, Bobby Walker of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Perry and wife Kristi of Tonopah, NV, Kevin Dale Perry and wife Donna of Divide, CO and Keith Lynn Perry of Divide, CO; five great- grandchildren and one sister, Rita Belaire Bish of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 62 years, Homer Paul Walker, Sr.; son, Paul Walker and a brother, J.C. Belaire.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, October 11, 2010 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Nathan Long will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Sunday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until 12:30 AM in the funeral home

kathy family, i am so sorry to hear about aunt florine. i have such wonderful mwmories of uncle homer and aunt florine and my mom verde belaire stoker. i will keep you and your family in my prayers. love julie
