Gloria Ann Thibodeaux

Gloria Ann Crochet Thibodeaux, 67, of Lake Charles died in her residence at 6:45 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2011.

The lord closed one door, and as Gloria was known; she opened the other door. She was a warrior with her battle of lung cancer for two and a half years. In the mid 1970's she began a career in sales. She was the first woman hired for insurance sales at Life of Georgia. Within six months she achieved the Presidents Club. She served on the Board of Directors for Life Underwriters Association, SBWA and also the Women's Leader Round Table and also a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Upon her departure from Life of Georgia, she assumed a position at Clark College as Assistant Training Director. Later, her career took off at Cinc Inc. as Job Employment Coordinator, then advancing to Director of Chennault Rentals, retiring after 20 years of service.

She leaves behind four beautiful children, Roxanne Broussard Bacarisse, Damien Thibodeaux, Robin Thibodeaux Prejean, and Kendra Thibodeaux Daugherty; five beautiful grandchildren, Justin and Garrett Fontenot, Nicole Higginbotham, and Alexander and Gavin Dougherty; and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Jayden Fontenot and Dallas and Austin Stricklin.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:45 PM at Johnson Funeral Home Monday June 13, 2011. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Consolata Cemetery with Father Keith Pellerin officiating.

  1. gloria and i went to marion from 5th grade to 10th at marion high school, she was a good friend and came back in contact with her years later she worked at chennault rentals and i was manager ay flecher feed and farm sply we had good times together in our teen years so very sorry for your lost she will be missed greatly, my sincere condolece to her family, will pray for you all god bless

  2. Gloria will be greatly missed. I was very sad to see the obituary posting. Gloria was my 2nd mother and helped me thru so much when I worked with her.

  4. I first met Gloria when our children attended school together at M.J. Kaufman (Steve Sean Corbello). She was involved in school activities. Years passed and I got re-acquanted with her during my years at The Chamber/SWLA. She was always full of energy with a big, contagious smile. I was very sad to learn she had lost her battle with cancer. I hope that memories of past good times will bring smiles to your hearts and your faces! May God bless you all…….

  5. I worked with Gloria at Chennault Rentals. She was the only person who ever cut my name short called me Lynn.She was Hoot and will be missed. God Bless. RIP Glo.

  6. I worked with Gloria for four years when I was with Martin de Porres Nursing Home and she was with Chennault Rentals. I went on a trip to Belize that she was also on. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She had me in tears at times laughing so hard, yet in her more serious moments she was simply a kind and gentle person. My deepest goes out to her family.

  7. My condolences to Ms. Thibodeaux's family – I was so saddened to read of her passing in this morning's newspaper. She was a good friend of mine for the past 10 years. She will be sorely missed.
