Grady Virgil Fruge

October 17, 1921 — August 14, 2011

On Earth she was a living saint and angel. She prayed her rosary twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Mrs. Fruge was called home by her Holy Father, Sunday morning, August 14, 2011 at 1:00 AM.


Mrs. Fruge was born October 17, 1921 to Quincy Odom and Lillian Blanchard Odom in Mamou, LA. She was the eldest of seven children. She worked thirty years as a registered sitter of the elderly. She enjoyed cooking, baking and nurturing her family. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.


Mrs. Fruge was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Carol Bondick of Mamou; Robert G. Pitre of Lake Charles; one daughter, Patricia Trahan and husband George of Lake Charles; two sisters, Rita Andrus and husband Leonard and Cassie Bourque and husband Eddie, both of Lake Charles; one brother, Callan Lee Odom of Lake Charles; one brother-in-law, Pat Angelle of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; nineteen great- grandchildren and nineteen great- great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Fruge; one sister, Gertie Mae Courville Angelle and two brothers, CJ Odom and Ronald "Bob" Odom and her parents, Quincy and Lillian Blanchard Odom.


Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Richard Adiukwu will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Monday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
