Helen M. Hebert

Mrs. Helen Hebert of Lake Charles passed away on September 17, 2016 after battling pneumonia.

 

A devoted wife and mother, Helen enjoyed TV mysteries, reading and time spent outdoors in her garden. Above all, she enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Helen was a devout Christian, a member of Fairview Methodist Church and, later, a member of the University United Methodist Church, both of Lake Charles.

 

Helen is survived by her brother, James Benoit of Lake Charles; sister, Jeanette Medus of Tomball, TX; children, Debbie Cooley of Pearland, TX, Connie Briley and husband Randy Briley of Moss Bluff, LA, Danny Hebert of Lake Charles, and Cindy Chesnutt of Houston, TX; as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Semon and Charlsie (Kendall) Benoit; her brother, Robert Benoit; and her beloved husband, Delmar Hebert.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.

  1. Charlie and Dacia, so sorry to hear about your beloved grandmother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  2. Helen was my sister and I have always called her Sister. She was a warm, loving, strong willed lady and I loved her dearly and always will!! I will miss her, but at the same time I am glad she has found the peace that she needed. My thoughts and prayers are with Debbie, Connie, Danny and Cindy. As well as her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her spirit lives on in all of you!!

  4. Aunt Helen was a sweet Aunt. I have so many great memories. She always made me feel welcome when we came to visit Lake Charles. She has found peace now. Debbie, Connie, Danny and Cindy I know what you are going through. Please let God's love and grace give you comfort. My love to all of you.
