Herbert James Guillory

November 29, 1932 ~ September 14, 2010

Herbert James Guillory, age 77, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at a local hospital.

A lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Mr. Guillory was a Korean War Marine Veteran. He retired from Citgo Petroleum as an instrumentation engineer and a supervisor. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Janet Guillory, and a brother, Reven Guillory.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Cavelyn Guillory of Lake Charles; his children, Tom Guillory and wife, Becky of Seabrook, TX, Rob Guillory and wife, Anita of Lake Charles, and Nancy Guillory of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mary Wyline Doucet of Carlyss and Pamela Fontenot of Waco, TX; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, September 17, 2010. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Friday, September 17, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

  1. I have been Mr. Guillory's mailman for 26 years…He was always, always, a Gentleman! I will certainly miss his warm greetings, and the inspiration he imparted when I know he had endured physical hardships through the years.God bless you all as you say goodbye to a fine man!

  4. To the friends famly of Mr. Guillory, I give my prayers deepest condolances. My mom has been best friends with Mr. Guillory's daughter-in-law since I was 5, so I've known him nearly my whole life. He was always so nice to me my family.
