Ian Lachlan Valentine

Ian Lachlan Valentine, 33, was born on May 31, 1990, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He passed away on November 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Ian is survived by his mom, Miriam Sensat. He is remembered fondly by his wife, Meagan Valentine, and his children, Natalie Paige, Trace Cole, Amelia Lachlin, and Aubree Jade Valentine. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Miranda LaFleur and Amanda Langley; sister, Jessica Sensat; half-brother, Keith Valentine and nieces and nephews, Braedyn and Kamdyn Holleman, Kaylyn Daigle and family, Alleigh LaFleur and family, and Tylor LaFleur and family.

Known for his intelligence, generosity, and artistic talents, Ian loved wholeheartedly. He was a dedicated father, son, and uncle, as well as a loyal best friend. He was a member of the ACTS community and attended Water’s Edge Church.  Ian found joy in spending time with his children at the beach and the mountains, hitting the gym and listening to music. He also enjoyed cutting hair for family and friends.  His professional career as a painter and boilermaker in the Lake Charles refineries reflected his strong work ethic.

Ian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his sister, Kimberly Valentine, his uncle Hubert Rasch, and his dad, Gary Sensat.

Ian’s funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Rev. Tony Bourque will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on the evening of Friday, November 24, 2023 at the funeral home, and will continue until 8:00 PM, with a Cursillo Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM and will continue until the start of the service at 10:00 AM.
