Jack W. Allen entered the gates of glory on April 9, 2023. He was born on March 3, 1935 to Arthur and Mazzie Allen in Ottawa, Kansas. He married the love of his life, Bernadette Hermesmeyer Allen, on April 5, 1957. They resided in Kansas until 1968 when he moved his family to Southwest Louisiana to work for the American Press. In 1972, he and his wife started the business House of Interiors in Lake Charles. They went to school in Georgia in 1980 to learn how to professionally hang wallpaper. They did this together until their retirement. At that time, their son took over the business; House of Interiors, LLC, which celebrated 50 years of operation in 2022. Jack enjoyed working alongside his wife in his shop and yard, growing roses, attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities, and singing in his church choir. Most of all he loved the Lord and treasured his daily bible readings: “And this is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” 1 John 5:11.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Bernadette Allen; son: J. Warren Allen II (Ellice) of Lake Charles; daughters, Connie Allen Johnson (Clint) of Benton, Arkansas and Dianne Allen of Sulphur. His grandchildren, Dusty Trahan of Ragley, Ashley Hughes (Wesley) of Sulphur, Jeremy Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Brett Allen of Lake Charles, Clayton Allen (Garance) of Austin, Texas, and Troy Johnson (Jordan) of Benton, Arkansas and great grandchildren: Audrey, Briley, Alyssa, Daley, Bryce, and Aiden.
