Jane Mastenbrook, 74, of Lake Charles, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday October 16, 2023.

Jane was a native of Muskegon, Michigan and a longtime resident of Lake Charles. She attained her Bachelor’s Degree from Milligan College in Elizabethton, Tennessee. For the past thirty years, Jane made the Lake Area her home. She was a member at Bethel Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in the children’s ministry. Jane enjoyed embroidery work and collected vintage cameras and needlework.

Preceding Jane in death are her parents, Hugh and Constance Eleanor Norton Mastenbrook. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Caroline Mayberry and Susan Hidema, Whitehall, MI; a brother, John Mastenbrook, Colorado; special friends, Chris and Christine Gates and Jimmy Soileau, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 26, 2023 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2040 E. McNeese St., Lake Charles, LA 70605, with a celebration of life to begin at 12:00 Noon. Immediately following services, there will be a fellowship in the Church hall.

The family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the Hobo House Hotel for Cats & Kittens, 650 E. School St., Lake Charles, LA 70605.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
