Kenneth Allen Verret

Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Verret, 49, of Westlake passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 in his residence.


Mr. Verret was born, raised and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He attended Lake Charles High School. He has lived the past five years in Westlake. Mr. Verret worked as a welder in the Construction Industry. He enjoyed grilling and loved his Harley motorcycle.


He leaves to honor his memory, two daughters, Stephanie Verret Guidry and husband Seth of DeQuincy and Hannah Verret of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Kaeli Bordelon, Gabriel Landry, Kenzli Guidry, Kenadi Verret and Kooper Verret; one brother, Jack Richard and wife Vickie of Lake Charles; four sisters, Deborah Verret Falcon and husband C.A. of Lake Charles, Donna Johnson of Bridge City, TX, Laura Melancon and husband Paul and Mandi Phipps and husband James, all of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Mildred Richard of Lake Charles; girl friend, Alicia Burton of Sulphur; mother of his children, Jeannie Verret (Milton) and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Groves Pearson, Cyril Allen and Rose Annette Verret and one brother, Grady Richard.


Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Thursday will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Friday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

  1. Deborah DonnaI was so sorry to hear about Kenny. We cannot attend the Services because as you probably know we lost Danny in April and just writing this tears me up. We will remember all of you in our prayers. Will always feel like you are family. May he now rest in peace.

  3. My father, Lloyd Lasserre, was the freight agent for Southern Pacific Railroad in Lake Charles and worked with Kenny's father. I remember Allen also. I have since become friends with Donna through work and church. October 28 would have been my dad's 93 birthday. He passed in October of 1997 and also was at Johnson's.
