Larry C. Rasmussen
November 3, 1936 ~ November 1, 2010
Larry Conrad Rasmussen, 73, a resident of Lake Charles, died on Nov. 1, 2010 in a local hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy and earned a B.A. degree in education from McNeese State University and a Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University. At the time of his retirement in 1991 he was a Clinical Social Worker Supervisor at Lake Charles Mental Health.
Mr. Rasmussen was preceded in death by his parents, Christian J. Rasmussen Sr. and Clara Alley Rasmussen, and his brothers, Christian J. Rasmussen Jr. and George A. Rasmussen.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia Fazzio Rasmussen of Lake Charles; daughter, Elisa Rasmussen of Macomb, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Rasmussen Henley and her husband, Michael, of Shreveport; son, Hans Rasmussen of Baton Rouge; grandson, Bruce Henley of Shreveport; and sister, Beverley Rasmussen Reina of Lake Charles.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Don Piraro will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

Some of my earliest memories are of Mr. Larry, particularly of him lifting me over the fence so I could come over and play with Hans. He was a good man and will be missed. My heart goes out to you Mrs. Virginia, Elisa, Jenny, and Hans. Regards,Amanda Goings
