Lauris Joseph Breaux, 72, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 in Lake Charles.
A native of Maurice, LA, he lived most of his life in Lake Charles attending St Landry High School where he was a member of the boxing and cheerleading teams. He served his country in the Navy and retired as Captain in 1982 from the Lake Charles Fire Department. Lauris enjoyed a variety of music, especially the saxophone for he was band member and sax player with the 1950's "Kerry and the Keys". Lauris was a longtime Full Gospel Non Denominational minister spreading the word of God as "The Ministry of Lauris Breaux."
Lauris is survived by his children Vicki Lynn Breaux Smith and husband Stephen and their daughter Katherine, David Allen Breaux and his son Cade, Randall Ray Breaux and wife Robyn and their sons Dylan and Austin, Charity Paige Breaux Labby; sister Dorothy "Janell" Courville and husband Ronald Sr.; brothers Clifton Breaux Sr, Clifton Breaux, III, Michael Breaux and wife Barbara and Robert Breaux.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clifton Joseph Breaux, Sr and Yola Carrette Molitor; sisters JoeAnna Marie Breaux and Deanna Sonnier.
His funeral will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
