June 12, 1944 ~ March 22, 2024

Linda Carol Gaharan, 79, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born on June 12, 1944, in Alexandria, La., to parents, Oscar and Marion Ganey Allbritton. She married her high school sweetheart in 1961 and was a loving and devoted wife. She loved being a mom to her children James and Shannon, and later a “Mam” to her three grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Dr. James Phillip Gaharan; a son James Gaharan; grandchildren Alyson Gaharan of Alexandria, Virginia; Steele Koonce of Lake Charles and Madelyn Geisz (Joe) of Fort Collins, CO; brothers Ron (Robin) Allbritton of Fountain Inn, SC; Clyde Allbritton (Judy) of Jena, LA; a sister Vanessa Allbrittion (Amy) of Jena. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She joins her parents and a daughter, Shannon Lynn Koonce, in heaven.

Memories Timeline

  1. Great lady, wonderful Christian sister , sorry we can’t be in lake. Charles to be with you . We are praying for you ! God bless you !

  2. I am so saddened by the passing away of this beautiful lady. I had the privilege to work 12 years for Linda and Dr. Gaharan and had to leave because I moved out of state. She was so kind, loving, funny we laughed and talked about many things.. Always a I spy God in a bad day I was having. I am trying to come in to say goodbye. My heart breaks for her husband and family.

  3. Linda had the heart of an angel. If she heard of a need, she would fill it. She was one of a kind. Watched her as she parented that precious Shannon. One day I asked Shannon if she knew how blessed she was to have such wonderful parents….she grinned and said “Yes mam I do!” My husband adored Linda. He often commented on her kindness- they served on several committees together. He welcomed her home, no doubt.

  4. Dearest Dr. Gaharan and family,

We are greatly saddened to learn of this sudden loss of your beloved wife and life’s partner.
We fondly remember impromptu visits in the neighborhood.
She was lovely and you both were always so kind.
May you be supported with love in the days ahead.

    Bryan and Patty Barootes
