Linda Gail Lavergne

June 16, 1963 ~ November 11, 2011

Mrs. Linda Gail Lavergne, 48, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011. She was a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Iowa.


Linda was employed by the office of Juvenile Justice Services and Marc Building. She was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church.


She is survived by her husband Steve Lavergne; two daughters, Tosha Chaffin and husband Jeremy and Nicole Lavergne; mother, Bethel Kelley Howell; father, Ernest Howell and wife Beverley; siblings, Lynn Howell and wife Sherry, Lorie Howell, Debra Nugent and husband Michael; granddaughter, Kenzie Chaffin.


Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 1PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Weishampel and Rev. John Astling will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Dry Creek. Visitation will begin Monday from 3PM-9PM and will continue Tuesday from 8AM until time of service.


Linda will be remembered by her family and friends for her electrifying smile, contagious laugh, Godly wisdom, unconditional love, forgiving spirit, and never ending reflection of the Father's heart. Our Lives will be forever changed by her life.

  11. The obituary says it all. Every characteristic used described her to a t. This is a tremendous loss to us here on earth, but what an angel Heaven has received. I am so honored to have known Linda and I will never forget her testimony while on this earth.

  14. What a wonderful angel the Lord now has! I don't think I've ever worked with a more caring,kind, unassuming person. I will miss her smile that you could count on every day and her infectious laugh- she had the ability to brighten your day on your worse day!! She was a beautiful soul!! She will be deeply missed!!
