Mr. Louis Tommasi, age 82, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at his residence in Lake Charles.
A WWII Army Veteran, Mr. Tommasi was the former owner/operator of Tommasi Grocery. A past cattleman as well, he retired from PPG as an electrician. He was presently a co-owner of Tommasi Enterprises. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed traveling all over the United States. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death was a grandson, Shane Tommasi, and a brother, Albert Tommasi.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lena Tommasi of Lake Charles; eight children, Rose Tommasi, Tony Tommasi and wife, Kathy, Debra Lynn Savoie and husband, Dennis, Tina Tommasi and companion, Larry Arendt, Steve Tommasi and wife, Stephanie, Harry Tommasi, Russell Tommasi and wife, Tammy, and Randall Tommasi all of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Msgr. James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Friday, October 15, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 16, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A cursillo rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
I am so sorry for your loss. It's at times like these that we realize how many of our friends we don't keep in touch with. May God be with you.
I am the daughter of JT and Jean Foster. Losing my Father in February of this year reminds me of how precious life is with those we Love. So very sorry in the loss of Louis. Take care and God Bless You Lena Mae and your family.
