Lura Mae Lou Dugas

Lura Mae "Lou" Dugas, 80, of Lake Charles died Monday, July 25, 2011 in the comfort of her home.


Mrs. Dugas was born in Chloe, LA and lived most of her life in the Chloe and Lacassine area. She was a graduate of Fenton High School. She was a talented artist and avid reader. She loved animals and was affiliated with a number of rescue groups.


Mrs. Dugas will be most remembered for her baking.


She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Cyndi Gwatney and Lloyd Williams and wife Mary, both of Lake Charles, Doyle W. Williams of Arlington, TX and Laura Eagleson and Jason Dugas, both of Lake Charles; one step-son, Reggie Dugas and wife Lynn of Iowa; one sister, Joan Foushee of Westlake; eight grandchildren, Nikki Colvin, Ian Gwatney, Lloyd Williams, Jr., Lee Williams, Edie Mae Oliver, Renee Chambers, Jason Dugas II, Summer Dugas; nine step- grandchildren; many great- great grandchildren and many step great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie and Edith Bruney and her husband Kennie Dugas.


Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Andreas Kedati will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
