Mary Ann Thigpen

Mary Ann Burnett Thigpen, 67, of Moss Bluff passed away, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in her daughter's residence.


She was a native of LeBlanc, LA and lived in the Lake Charles area most of her life. Mrs. Thigpen was retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board and was member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Sulphur.


She is survived by her husband, Jack Thigpen; children, Carol Fontenot and husband Clifton of Sulphur, Mark Thigpen of California, Gretta Mask and husband Keith of Woodlawn, and Pamela Fontenot and husband Wade of Moss Bluff; her grandchildren, Timothy, Caleb, and Mary Beth Fontenot, Melony, Coltin, Mallory, Cody, and Caden Mask; one sister, Annette Areno and husband Harold; four brothers, Nelson, Noland, and Paul Burnett, and Richard Burnett and wife Dean. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Delphanie Burnett and a brother, Norman Burnett.


Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Sulphur. Bishop L. P. Upton and Pastor Alan Upton will officiate. Burial will be in LeBlanc Cemetery in LeBlanc under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, in the funeral home and continue from 10:00 AM until time of service, Thursday, in the church.
