Mary Lou "Tillie" Snider Martin, 81, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in a local hospital.
Born in Buckner, Arkansas, Mrs. Martin lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a homemaker and a member of University Baptist Church and their JOY Club, "Just Older Youth."
She is survived by one son, Claude Dennis Martin of Lake Charles; sister-in-law Irene Germany also of Lake Charles; brother-in-law Percy Courville of Alexandria; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Claude W. Martin; two sisters, Hazel Beene and Virginia Courville; and two brothers, J. W. and Holman Snider.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at University Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Her nephew, Rev. Don Courville, will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
