Niese Louise Cooley

April 1, 1935 ~ August 21, 2016

Niese Louise Cooley, 81, passed away on August 21, 2016 at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Niese Cooley was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith. She served the Body of Christ as a Ladies Auxilliary leader, at Youth Sunday School, and as a Youth Director for many years. The influence she had upon the lives of the youth will be revealed in the Great Reckoning Day.

Niece Cooley was a lover of family. She cherished the time when the family gathered at her house or at the camp on Bundick’s Lake. The heart of the family is heavy today, but our spirit is rejoicing. She has won the battle and now is at rest. We shall see you on that “Great getting up morning.”

Mrs. Cooley is survived by her husband, Robbie Cooley; daughter, Deborah A. Burgin (Floyd); son, Rev. Glenn D. Cooley (Julia); sisters, Nelva Abrusley of Oakdale, Charity Ford of Dry Creek, and Neoma Rowell of Little Rock, AK; and her best friend Ester Marcantel. Mrs. Cooley also leaves eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leander and Louise Hamilton.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 26, 2016 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Ragley, LA. Rev. Glenn Cooley, Rev. Eldon Reeves, and Rev. Rodney Bankens will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Dry Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 26th until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 9:00 AM on Friday until the start of the service.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all during and after your loss. She is no longer in pain and with our Lord.

  2. The Lambert family were neighbors on Straley for a number of years with Niese and Robbie Cooley , their children were our neighborhood friends – we have many wonderful memories, they invited us to church , especially vacation bible school which made a big impact on my life, we watched them and their church friends play volleyball in their yard(they had a special kind of fun) surely she was one of the most sweetest and loving ladies that I knew – I was not of the Pentecostal faith then but I now have been of this wonderful Pentecostal experience for 40 1/2 years – we are in prayer for this great loss to family and friends – so glad I knew her – could say so much more – God comfort you all

  3. We were grateful to have her in our lives and our family. She will be missed. Love, Kathy & Versie

  4. Robbie – so very sorry – you can be comforted with the knowledge that you took such good care of your beautiful wife – and that you and her will have a glorious future in the land where we will never grow old – no sickness – no tears – at the feet of Jesus. God bless you all.

  5. Sis. Cooley was so kind to this 15 year old kid that entered her Sunday school class. I always thought she was so pretty. Quick to smile and laugh, she influenced for good all the young people at Westlake church. She was as lovely in spirit as she was in the flesh. Will miss her.
