Niva Theresa Theriot
August 18, 1943 — February 9, 2024
Niva Theresa Theriot, 80, passed away Friday February 9, 2024. Niva was born August 18, 1943, to Pete and Lucy Messina.
Niva graduated St. Charles Academy in 1962. She was a teachers aid for more than 30 years for Calcasieu Parish HeadStart program. She was a devout catholic woman.
Those left to cherish her memories are sons; Michael Theriot (Yan) and Thomas Theriot (Donna); grandchildren, Hunter, Thomas, Mason Johnson, and Brooke Whitaker; sister, Mary Hester; best friends, Pat Perry and Ginger Raferty.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Pete and Lucy Messina; grandson, Gabriel Theriot; siblings, Roy, Morris, Geneva, Charles Messina and Rosalie Tyrone.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday February 15, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. A rosary will be said at 11:00a.m. Following the service will be burial at Graceland Cemetery.
