Ollie Louise Reynolds Broussard, 87, of Lake Charles, formerly, Creole, LA entered into rest Monday, September 19, 2011 from the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Broussard was born and raised in Lamesa, TX. She lived nearly sixty years in Creole and the past six years in Lake Charles. Mrs. Broussard greatly enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. Her signature dishes were her Coconut, Chocolate and Raisen pies. She also enjoyed reading, watching soap operas and flower gardening.
Mrs. Broussard will be most remembered for her love of her brothers and sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Jerry L. Broussard and wife Charlotte of Ragley and Robin E. Broussard and wife Kathy of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Cindy Carter and husband Bryan of Raleigh, NC, Celeste LeBlanc and husband Chris of Raleigh, NC and Blake and Dylan Broussard, both of Lake Charles; two great-grandchildren, Erin LeBlanc and Garrett LeBlanc, both of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Jack Reynolds and wife Loree of Pocatello, ID and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Loomis "Nunu" Broussard; her parents; two brothers and four sisters.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Larry Broussard, Shirley Primeaux and Mable Ann Starr for opening their hearts and furnishing their aunt a home following the devastation of Hurricane Rita; special niece, Peggy Myers for her daily visits and extra efforts; Ben and Mayful Harris for their generous hearts; Jean Demarie with Cameron Parish Counsel on Aging for her special interest and Susan with Synergy Home Care for her excellence in care.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery in Creole. Father Tim Goodly will officiate. Visitation Friday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Saturday from will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
