Patricia Ann "Pat" Arabie, 66, of Lake Charles died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Arabie was born and raised in Basile, LA. She graduated Salutatorian of her class at St. Edmond Catholic High School in Eunice. She has lived forty five years in Lake Charles. Mrs. Arabie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest love was babysitting, nurturing and raising children and for the past forty five years, there has always been a child in her care.
Mrs. Arabie will be most graciously be remembered as the "family rock".
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of forty- seven years, Robert Donald Arabie, Sr., of Lake Charles; one son, Brian Arabie and wife Phyllis of Grand Lake; two daughters, Pamela Thibodeaux of Lake Charles and Angela Martin and husband Bill of Grand Lake; two step- sons, Robert Donald Arabie, Jr. and wife Belinda of Moss Bluff and Mark Arabie and wife Daphne of Kinder; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil White and wife JoAnn of Carlyss and Mike Fuselier and wife Jada of Moss Bluff and one sister, Renee Tullous and husband Jerry of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Freddie Duplechan Arabie and one sister, Willie Mae Datenoff.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Cursillo rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
Been a while since i seen Patsy,good cousin she was, she lived across the st. from me in Westlake,when i came in from work, coffee was waiting ! We had good memories throughout our childhood in Basile..Rest in peace , my heart goes out to the family may the good Lord wrap his aarms around each everyone of you..
My family and I give their condolences to the Arabie Family. Pat was always kind and sweet to me and my family. May Heaven be all that she dreamed of.
