  4. I had the pleasure of working with Paul for many years at the D.A.'s office. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

  5. I really got to know Paul when I served as District Attorney of Calcasieu Parish. He applied for a job with the office and I hired him as an Assistant D.A. He was obviously very intelligent but what impressed me most about him was his compassion and genuine love for people. He had great respect for the rule of law and always used his position and authority to achieve a just result in every case he handled. Those of us who knew and loved him will miss him terribly. Those of us who share his great faith in God know that someday we will see him again in Paradise.

  6. I was honored to work with Paul for the past year and 8 months and had the highest respect for him as an attorney and person. He was exceptional and made my job far easier. The organization of his files was legendary. When he was not perfect about facts or such in court, I made a point of noting, Paul made a mistake, since the ocassions were so rare. Recently, I received from Paul a legal memorandum on an issue that had presented itself in regard to a prisoner. I had issued a ruling, but Paul knew I had erred. His memorandum was exceptional and was my first exposure to Paul's brillance as a writer and researcher. I did not hesitate to change my ruling. To say he will be missed is a gross understatement and his absence will greatly alter my life. Geralyn and I grieve for Tina and the children.Clayton and Geralyn Davis

Paul was an incredible person who always achieved by doing for others, whether it was to lend an ear, smile his fantastic smile, or to just say a kind word.
