Robert Halpin "Bob" Holland, Sr.

Robert Halpin “Bob” Holland, Sr., 68 years old, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023.  He was born on July 1, 1954 to Edward C. and Johnnie Halpin Holland in Beaumont, TX.

Bob graduated from DeRidder High School in 1972, and Louisiana State University in 1976.  He was a Management Consultant for multiple Fortune 500 Companies, including Gulf States Utilities (currently Entergy).  He was president of The Chelsea Group, Inc./Holland-Ladner Partnership, General Partner/President of Crown Property Management, owner of Holland Real Estate, Broker/Managing Member of Coldwell Banker Legacy, and Associate Broker with Century 21 Bono Realty.  He was co-owner of Scarlett O’s in Lake Charles, owner/partner of Madrid Apartment Complex and Chateau Lafitte Apartment Complex, D’Iberville Apartment Complex, and The Markham Building in Mississippi.

He was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, serving in the Choir Ministry, as Eucharistic Minister, and as a member of the ACTS Retreat.  He served as a member of the St. Therese Little Flower Carmelites.  He also made two missionary pilgrimages to Medjugorje, and one to the Holy Land.

He was involved in many organizations, including the American Management Association, Calcasieu Historical Preservation Society, Calcasieu Political Action Committee, International Management Council, Kiwanis Club of South Lake Charles, Louisiana Association of Business & Industry, Louisiana Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, SWLA Association of Realtors, Christus St. Patrick Hospital Fundraising Committee and The Chamber Southwest Board of Directors.

Bob enjoyed life.  He particularly enjoyed going to movies, fishing, LSU football, music and dancing, bird watching, morning coffee with family, coaching all of his childrens’ sports, outdoor grilling (he was a food critic), socializing with friends and family and making new acquaintances.  He was a true southern gentleman, having the ability to connect with all kinds of people.  He mentored many people of all ages and affiliations, personally and professionally.  He had a servant’s heart.  He was honest and generous, with a deep love and commitment to his family, whom he loved unconditionally.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Sabrah Helms Holland; his children, Laurel Moss Jenkins, and husband, Phillips, Lucien Kennedy “Beau” Moss, III, Robert Halpin “Bobby” Holland, Jr., Maggie Pankhurst, and husband, Justin and Rex Kingham; his grandchildren, Isabel, Caroline and Juliet Jenkins, Cameron Pankhurst and Rayna Kingham; his sisters, Barbara Betbeze, Harriette Bishop and Edwina Grimstad.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his deceased wife, Rose Timpa Holland; and his sister, Patricia Hawkins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  Father Keith Pellerin will serve as Celebrant.  Inurnment will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, January 17, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM until leaving in procession to the church at 10:30 AM.
