Mr. Roderick Bell, 85, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. He was born in Kinder and a resident of Lake Charles.
Mr. Bell was a member of South City Christian Church and a life member of VFW Post #2130, American Legion Post #1, and the Military Order of the Cooties. He was a past Post Commander of VFW Post #2130 and past president of the Military Order of the Cooties. A carpenter by trade, he worked for Blankenship Builders, James Carpenter, Morrison Properties, and Woodlands Mgmt. CO.
Roderick was devoted to his family and enjoyed working in his yard and loved French music and loved to dance. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Cormier Bell; three children, Anita Thibodeaux and husband Eddie of Bentonville, AR, Lloyd G. Bell of Lake Charles, Angela Marie Zimmerman Rogers of Lake Charles; one grandson, Kenneth Eric Thibodeaux; one brother, Alvey Bell and wife Kathleen of Jennings.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanette Bell; parents, Adraste and Marion Manuel Bell; brother, Harry W. Bell.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 3PM-9PM and will continue Wednesday from 8AM until time of service.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Robby Bacon will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Elton.

My condolences to all of the Bell family. I have known Angie and her family for many years now. Remember the good times that you all shared. To Angie, you are in a great place in your life now with a great group of people surrounding you. May you find comfort in knowing that we are all here for you.
So sorry for your lose.I knew Mr. Bell and i can remember him dancing at the V.F.W. on Saturday nights.He is dancing in Heaven now with my parents. We will remember him in our prayers.We love you Angie.
