Roger Dale Nation

September 4, 1967 ~ April 3, 2024

Roger Dale Nation, 56, of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly at a local hospital with his family at his side following a brief illness.

Roger was a native and lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area and a graduate of LaGrange High School. He worked for Sentential Transportation as a driver for many years. He was proud of his Cajun heritage and had true passion for fishing and shrimping and looked forward to anytime that he could get away to savor these interests. Roger was of the Christian faith and was a longtime member of Sale Street Baptist Church where he participated in the Student Ministry as a parent and volunteer as well as an active member of the adult bible study. More recently, he joined Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Roger was truly a “fisher of men,” as he was also an ordained minister to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Preceding Roger in death are his parents, Nolan and Brenda O’Blanc (Nation) Leger and a granddaughter, Julia Keeney. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Tina Whitehead Nation; sons, Nolan Nation, Lake Charles; Garrett Keeney (Meredith), Lake Charles; Cody Keeney, Lake Charles and Brandon Keeney (Joy), Lake Charles; grandchildren, Evelyn, Caroline and Ryan Keeney with Sadie on the way; siblings, Rita Leblanc (Pat), Westlake; Linda McBride (Brian), Westlake; Wanda Nolan, Kinder; Donald Leger (Debbie) Ragley and Sandra Palmer (Robert), Starks as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.
