Ronald Lynn Meador

May 30, 1941 ~ June 18, 2023

Ronald Lynn Meador, 82, of Lake Charles passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Ronnie was born May 30, 1941 to Violet and Walter Meador in Kilgore, Texas. He grew up in Lake Charles, graduating from Marion High School in 1959. He then went on to work for Western Union where he delivered telegrams as a bicycle courier. After retirement and much encouragement from his beloved wife Sheryl, he went to work at Academy in the hunting and fishing department where he was known affectionately to his coworkers as “Big Ron”. His favorite pastimes included fishing, traveling across the country with his wife and best friend of 60 years, doting on his grandchildren, frequent casino trips with his mother-in-law, and sneaking away for the occasional Swisher Sweet.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Arsement Meador; children, Tammy Victorian (Stan) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Sean Meador (Jennifer) of Sugar Land, Texas; grandchildren, Kari Casey (Jason), Kristopher Prudhomme, Kasey Prudhomme (Autumn), Zachary Meador (Ryleigh); great grandchildren, Graham Casey, Anna Catherine Casey, Blake Amelia Meador and siblings, Tim Meador (Kay) and Jill Irons (Keith).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Walter Meador; in-laws Nedra and Wilmer Arsement; siblings, Dale Meador, Keith Meador and Kevin Meador.
