Rose Harris, 78, of Lake Charles, died Saturday April 30, 2011.
Rose was born August 16, 1932 in the Big Lake community to Edwin and Nellie Poole Royer. She was very strong in her Christian faith and was know to be called upon by many to be a "prayer warrior".
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 59 years, C.J. Harris, Lake Charles; two daughters, Connie Davis and husband Bob, Greenwood, LA and Pat Kersch and husband Tom, Lake Charles; a son, Dwight Harris, Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Allyson Johnson and Kaycee Kersch, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Linda Lafleur and husband Bonner, Sulphur; two brothers, Sherffield Royer and wife Bobbie and Donnie Royer and wife Evelyn, both of Sweetlake.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday May 2, 2011 with a Memorial Service to be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Andrew Martin will officiate.

Dwight, I remember your mother with the fondest memories. Her Christian spirit filled your home, may God Bless you during your sorrow.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Rose was such a wonderful lady with a sweet soul. We loved her, and we will cherish the wonderful memories we shared with her and the entire Harris family. One memory that is an everlasting one, is the fact that Rose helped us to select the name for our adopted daughter Abby, who was 2 at them time. Rose took one look at her and said she looked like Abby from a TV show and that's what we should name her and we did. We have nothing but positve wonderful memories of Rose.
