Susan Jenise Trahan Doise

Susan Jeanise Trahan Doise departed life on Thursday, September 29, 2011, as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

She was born to David and Carol Trahan on January 7, 1971, and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, a graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School and McNeese State University, and an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church.


Susan's life was spent helping others, and she will be most remembered for her warm smile; her sense of humor; and her giving, caring, and generous heart.


She was a legal assistant for Scott J. Pias, attorney-at-law, for more than twenty years. She was on the board of directors of SPELC Credit Union. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association and was named Woman of the Year in 2006 by the Les Femmes D'Affaires Chapter of the ABWA.


She is survived by her husband, Kyle Doise, and their son, Garrett Joseph Doise; her parents, David and Carol Trahan; her sister, Laura Fontenot; her brother, Roddy Trahan; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Monday October 3, 2011, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, beginning at 8 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.

  3. I am so very sorry for your loss. Susan was a wonderful person. I went to St. Louis with her. I had run into her a few times over the years and it was always really great to see her. she met everyone with a smile. She will be missed.

  6. I first met Susan when we worked together at Carmouche Law Firm. We would catch up on events happening in our lives when our paths crossed from time to time in our present jobs. During our conversations, it was evident how much Susan loved her family and her job. Her loss will be felt by so many people who had the fortune of making her acquaintance. To Susan's family and many friends, I extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. May memories of Susan now and forever comfort you.

  7. I have known Susan for many years. We worked in offices next door to eachother many years ago. Also, my child attends the same school as her child. There are no words to express my deepest sympathy to the family. Susan was a very knd, caring and genuine person. We lost a wonderful person and great mother. Her wonderful spirit will go on as she looks down upon us in Heaven.

  10. I knew Susan from a working relationship only however, the times I spent with her gave me an insight to her mind, heart and soul. She was a caring and giving person and always had a smile on her face. She spoke of her husband and son each and every time I saw her and her love for both was so evident in her conversation. She will be deeply missed.

  14. Me Kyle go back to our childhood,he has been my very best friend for years…I remember meeting Susan for the very time at my parents right before we left to go to our 10yr High School Reunion. She was a person from the moment you fell in love with her. She never met a stranger that didn't become a friend. There's so many memories throughout the years that will remain with me..all the times of playing cards, sitting around just laughing…she was such a fun silly person…she was a confidant to me when I needed that someone that would listen to me give me advice. She was a loving wife mother. I can say we're surely gonna miss that big smile contagious laugh,she could brighten anyones day,always found the good in the bad. So thankful for all the times we spent together visiting having a good time. Things just aren't going to be the same. But now we have a Angel watching over us.   19. Susan and I worked together some years ago, and we had become friends even before that when she worked at the fabric store. I always sharing cat stories with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this terrible loss.

  21. Susan was my first friend and playmate. We loved each other so much even though we didn't agree, as children, on much of anything. We spent so much time together that I can recall her mom sending me home because we needed a break. As we got older I looked up to Susie as an older sister. She let me wear her clothes and would fix my hair and make-up. She even let me ride with her to school in high school even though she was a Senior and I was a Sophmore. She was supportive of me when I needed her the most and the Trahan's always made me feel like part of the family. I will cherish the memories of the times I spent with Susie and keep her in my heart forever. May the peace of God be with Kyle, Garrett, Mrs. Carol, Mr. David, and Laura and the girls to help them through this time of sorrow. I love you Susie!Love Nette

  22. Susan was one of the sweetest women I've ever had the privilege of knowing. Coming to work was more enjoyable when Susan was upstairs because I could always depend on her sense of humor and our little conversations to help the day go by more pleasantly. She'll be deeply missed.

Her parents were and still our like my parents, I've always considered their family as my extended family. I am so sorry for you loss. No words can help you in this time of sorrow.   25. When I learned of the news of Susan's passing, my heart truly hurt. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all. This is such a senseless tragedy.
