Susan Monique Gibson

January 12, 1973 ~ May 21, 2024

Susan Monique Gibson 51, passed away on May 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 12, 1973, in Sanford Fl, to John Gibson Sr. and Sandra McGee.

Family was everything to Susie. She not only loved spending time with her daughter and close family, but she also spent years finding “long lost” family members then traveling to go visit them. In addition to visiting family, she was also an avid traveler of the U.S. and abroad. If she decided she loved you then she was going to be a part of your life, whether you liked it or not. She lived a colorful life that she enjoyed punctuating with colorful language. She loved concerts and college football and would not miss a chance to see Pink or LSU. She experimented with many different hobbies and was always looking to try something new. She had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile, and a laugh that can light up anyone’s day!

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, brother; Lee Gibson, and sister; Heidi Gibson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents John Gibson Sr. And Sandra Faye McGee (James), her daughter; Daryan Gibson Gotreaux (Ian), her siblings Bo Gibson (Kayla), Cameron Gibson,  Billy Wilcox (Toni), Richard Probeck, and Heather Joyner. Her step siblings Kelly Chaconas (John), Casey McGee (Daphana), and Stacy Wheat (James), as well as her many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of MD Anderson and all of her medical team.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnosn Funeral Home.
