Verna Mae Perron, 85, of Lake Charles passed away, Friday, September 2, 2011 in a local care facility.
She was a life resident of Lake Charles. Ms. Perron was a member of First Church of Christ, now Community Christian Church, from the time it was a French Language Church. Verna Mae had worked as a hamburger cook at the old Busy Bee Cafe' on Ryan Street and later did self-employed house cleaning.
Survivors include her son, James LaFleur, one sister, Verna Kropp; two brothers, Louis Perron and Vories "Blackie" Perron and wife Patricia; niece, Debbie Daigle; sister-in-law, Lois North; two nephews, Anthony Perron Davidson, and Mike Perron Davidson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claney (Blanc) LaFleur; parents, John Batiste and Elda Perron, and brother, Esta Lee Perron.
Her funeral will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Jan Coulter will officiate. Burial will be in Black Bayou Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service, Tuesday, in the funeral home.
The family extends a special thanks to long time friend Juanita Navarre, Odyssey Hospice, and Rosewood Nursing Home.
