Vincent Ferrie Jr.

Vincent Ferrie, Jr. 89, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

He was born on December 6, 1933 in New Haven Connecticut to Vincent Ferrie, Sr. and Joyce Mack Ferrie. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft electrician. He also enjoyed a career as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1989. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and for his great sense of humor. He loved cutting up with his family and friends and watching the Houston Astros.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Grace Hutson Ferrie; daughters, Debbie Fontenot (Gordon), Joyce Fusilier (Ed), and Lisa LaBouve; sister, El Carignan; brothers, Bert Ferrie (Maureen), and Gary Burke (Nancy); 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Burke (Harold); father, Vincent Ferrie, Sr. (Julia); brother, Richard Burke (Millicent); son-in-law, Blaine LaBouve; mother and father-in-law, Grace and Samuel Hutson; brother-in-law, Tommy Carignan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Rose Hutson; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Carolyn Gayle.

His funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Rev. Adam Brock will officiate. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
