Vinise Cradeur

December 17, 1915 ~ July 15, 2011

Vinise was a resident at the Crossville Health Care Center, Crossville, AL. She was born in Mamou, Louisiana to Felix and Virginia Fuselier Guillory and was raised in the Big Lake / Black Bayou communities. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ.


Vinise was preceded in death by her husband, Teluse Cradeur; daughter, Grace Cradeur; and son, Howard Cradeur.


She is survived by her son, Dallas Cradeur of Lake Charles; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Cradeur Young and Jack Young of Fort Payne, AL; sister, Ethyl Fontenot of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.


Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bill Collins will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery in Grand Lake, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.

  2. Dearest MawMaw, Thank you for sharing your love with all of us. You always made time for us grandkids and you always made us your famous donuts, pies, cakes and fig-newtons. Your desserts were amazing and brought us such joy! To You and PawPaw Cradeur Thank you for having the Camp in Big Lake. I have such wonderful memories from that time period. I wished my boys could have seen it and shared the fun and adventures we all had with the both of you. Your Cooking .. The Best!! Everything from scratch! Wow!! Just Wonderful!!   3. Ms. Vinise always welcomed me with open arms and a smile when I visited her. Sometimes on Sunday afternoon, I'd go get us each a pint of ice cream and take two spoons. We'd visit and eat our ice cream right out of the box. Often she would sing for me. Even at age 90 she still had a good singing voice. I loved her.
