Violet F. Thibodeaux

Violet F. Thibodeaux, age 71, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at a local hospital.


Born April 8, 1939, to Odey and Zula Foreman, in New Iberia, she was a resident of Westlake. She worked as a respiratory therapist for over 30 years at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved playing bingo and sewing. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Thibodeaux, and her parents.


Survivors include her six daughters, Christine Chesson and husband, Lenard of Topsy, Carol Kalna and husband, Ken, of Lake Charles, NeeCole Pierce and husband, Doug of Topsy, Lisa Monday and husband, Charlie of Plant City, FL, and Vanessa Eastwood and Summer Calvert both of Westlake; a dear friend, Karla Pearson of Moss Bluff; one brother, Griffith Foreman and wife, Velma of Moss Bluff; ten grandchildren, Leslie Lockhart, Randi, Ryan, and Shae' Chesson, Sarah Kalna, Tiffany Verret, Jake Monday, Derrick and Tori Eastwood, and Aubrey Calvert; and six great-grandchildren.


Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Rev. Oliver McGuire will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Friday, December 10, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 6 p.m. by Deacon Jack Reynolds.
