But, I know that his legacy and memory will live on through all of the many lives he has touched. To many, he was a living representation of Jesus' love for all of us. God used Walter as an Angel on Earth, to spread His message of love to others. For this, I am eternally grateful. We will continue to pray for you. Please let us know if there is any way we can help.Love, Robin Lawrence Austin and family

  4. Dr. Guth left a huge footprint in my life on July 15th, 2008, when he delivered my daughter, Kennedy. He will always hold a very special place in my heart. To the Guth kids: When I was in the operating room, preparing to welcome Kennedy, your dad was telling me stories of when his kids were born. Surely, the FATHER he is with now, is proud of the father your dad was on this earth.

  5. Dr. Guth was an awesome doctor. He saved my life and delivered my granddaughter. I pray that his family will have comfort in knowing that he is in a warm and loving place with God. My prayers go to his family.

  6. Dr. Guth was an exceptional Doctor and a wonderful, caring Person. Several Doctors said there was NO possible way I would be able to have a baby-due to having severe health risk concerns. I started seeing Dr. Guth in 2004 HE told me that it would take a miracle for me to be able to conceive but HE said Miracles do happen when GOD's in control. In 2005 I conceived with being very high risk @ 37 weeks, He delivered(by C-section)OUR precious little Angel from Heaven on March 1st 2006. When I was in the O.R. getting my Spinal block, Dr. Guth was holding my hand talking about how excited HE was to meet Our Little Miracle. The 1st picture We have of OUR ONLY Child is of Dr. Guth holding Our Son's head in the palm of HIS hand. He will be greatly missed, but NEVER forgotten the memories I have of HIM, I will hold close to MY heart forever. OUR Hearts Prayers go out to HIS Family during this difficult time. Love- Jeff, Tiffany Hunter Carson Gill

  7. Dr. Guth was and always will be a great man, father and doctor. He was so kind and compassionate. I had complications with my pregnancy and he helped me through it with ease. Always had kind words. Never negative. He will be greatly missed by so many. R.I.P. Dr. Guth. Gone but never forgotten. :*(

  10. I went to graduated Barbe with Walter and ultimately chose him as a doctor. Walter helped my husband Jacob and I through a very difficult time in 2007. He was kind to us and that isn't something that you see a lot of these days. Thanks, Walter.

  11. I will forever have fond memories of Dr.Guth. (Wally) He was the first person to ever hold both my children, I can't imagine anyone else I would have wanted in the operating room. People come into you life and forever leave footprints on your heart and Walter was truely a great description of this. Rest in peace your work here is done. My heartfelt prayers go out to the entire Guth family.

  15. In the 27 yrs I had the pleasure of knowing Walt he held many roles in my life. As a classmate friend, I admired him. In 2004, during a time that my husband I were told would end in despair…in came Walter and changed despair into welcoming our youngest son, Blake into the world. Never in my life has there been a person that I've admired more, never has there been a person that I've been more grateful for. Walter was unmatched in talent regarded as unbelieveably special to many. I am eternally thankful for every single moment I've shared with him. Jodie, we are here for you the kids. If ever you need a reminder of the miracle of Walter….give me a call. Thanks to Walter, I have proof of his awesomeness. We love you,Leslie Darrell (Bradley Blake)

  18. My heart is just broken, because Walter was my doctor for the past 6 years. He was the most wonderful, caring, and capable doctor I have ever met. When I found out that he had cancer, I thought he was so young and healthy, and it couldn't possibly be true. He was a blessing to all who knew him. We want to let his family and friends know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. The Bible says God's grace is sufficient for you. and may God's grace surround you at this time.

  19. My husband, Kevin, and I are so saddened to hear of Walter's passing. We all went to Barbe together and he and Kevin played baseball together when they were younger. You would be hard pressed to find a kinder, better person than Walter. Our deepest sympathies.Kevin and Dana Hamilton

  20. My prayers and thoughts go out to his loved ones in this time of need.Dr Guth was a great person. I was one of his high risk patients. So many things to say and express about this man but above all what I remember the most is his dedication and love for his patients and job. To make a long story short he fought and fought for our unborn child and after a 2 month hospital stay he proudly delivered our Preemie Bailey Ann at a healthy 34 wks. Without his determination and objections with his colleagues our babygirl would not be a fully thriving, happy, 4 yr old. Who can now count and participate in school activities. She survived because he made sure to keep me pregnant. He holds a special place in all of our hearts. God Bless all who love him. Know he is now at rest. Praying hard !

  21. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Guth's family and friends… He was my doctor for over 2 years… my husband and I thought the world of him… He was a wonderful doctor!!! 22. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I went to school with Walter for many years and graduated school with him. I am sadden to hear this gone to soon. All my love and prayers to you.Angie Borel

  23. Our families shared a lot of good times, enjoyable memories, and lots of love. He was the biggest sweetheart ever. Love to you, Grace, Hal and Bryan.

  24. Please know that we are praying for all of you in this time of great loss. Your family is an inspiration to those that know and love you. Sincerely,Jennifer GuilloryRoger and Sarah CorbelloLaura Sherman (Mrs. Sherman)

  25. So sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I knew of Walter from LSU in Shreveport. Quite a wonderful human being.

  26. Switching to Dr. Guth's care in the late 1990s was the best health decision I ever made. I had a lot of problems and he was always knowledgeable, professional, and most of all, CARING. I struggled to get pregnant for a long time and his compassion never ceased during the hard times. We ended up adopting, and mid-process I had a surprise pregnancy. Dr. Guth took the time to do that first ultrasound himself and shared in the joy my husband and I had with the surprise. He didn't just act joyful, he truly was joyful. You don't find too many doctors like that these days. I can't imagine the huge hole his death leaves for his family, and I have all of you in my prayers. Thank you for sharing Dr. Guth and his talents with the world. Behind every good man is a good family. God bless you.

  27. THERE IS NO DOUBT Dr. Guth was a terrific doctor, well respected, and genuinely loved by his patients, his co-workers, his friends….and his incredible family. Father God, Thank You for using Walter to help deliver your little ones, to love so many, and to change and touch lives in ways still unfolding. Thank You for the hands you are using to support Jodie and embrace Walter's family and friends when pain and grief are weighing them down. And Thank You for Jesus, in who took on that we are so that we could become as He is…. forgiven and forever in Your presence. In Jesus Name.

  28. To Jodie,Hannah,Hailey,Kevin, and Adam, May God lift you all up and comfort you during this very difficult time. We are continuing to cover you in prayer. We were very blessed to have known your dad- Couch Walter was such a wonderful, compassionate, and gentle person- the world is a better place because he was here. Our love, Michelle, Tye, Jillian, and Stewart Whitley

  29. To Jody: my heart goes out to you and your children! I started seeing Dr Guth in the late 90's and quickly decided that he was the greatest doctor I had ever seen! It wasn't until 2006 when my husband and I started to try to get pregnant I really found out just how great he was when he would sit me down when I was upset and tell me to chill out that I would have that baby one day with the right steps! I adventurly had to see a fertility specialist in July of 09 to find out that I was pregnant just 3 months after going! My fertility specialist said because of the excellent care I got before seeing him made his job of getting me pregnant so easy! I will never forget the phone when I told him that I was pregnant he was just as excited as I was! He cared for me through my pregnancy and was great about suggesting who he thought would be the best doctor to deliver my bundle of joy! He also shared my excitement and understood and was very caring and surpportive when I was sad! He has left a huge footprint in my heart because without his knowledge and caring attitude I may not have my little boy! My heart really hurts for you guys!

  30. To the Guth family… I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Walter but know that he is now in a better place where there's no pain. He was a great person and I'm fortunate to have been a childhood friend of his as we played little league baseball for South Lake Charles. My deepest sympathies and strongest prayers are with you all.Sincerely, Matthew Bonnette

  31. Walter was a GREAT kid and an even better man. What an honor to teach Walter at S.J. Welsh. My prayers are with Hal,Grace,Bryan and the rest of Walter's family.

  32. Walter was one of the kindest souls I've ever had the honor of working with and knowing from way back in high school. Our sincerest condolences to his family.. you are in our prayers.

  33. We are praying for you and your family Jodie. We are very sad for your great loss. Love and prayers from The Dunman's.

  34. When my son entered this world on May 21, 2003, one of the first faces he looked into was Dr. Guth's. I am honored to have met such a kind and gentle man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  35. You just couldn't find a better man. We were classmates at Barbe and we met up again at the 5-Miler several years ago. If I could take this untimely end from you and your family, I would. You will be missed by so many, but your legacy will continue in your beautiful family. What God has gifted to you, He has also gifted to your children and we are all better off because of it.
