Wanda Ann Langley

Wanda Ann Langley, 81 years old, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Wanda was born on October 11, 1942, in Oberlin, Louisiana to John and Alice Chaumont.

She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School in 1960, and then followed her education at Sowela Technical College with an LPN degree. She worked at Moss Regional Hospital from 1976-1996, then worked at St. Patrick’s Hospital from 1996- until she retired. Wanda was a talented seamstress and great cook. She always looked forward to the next trip, as she enjoyed traveling and RV camping with her husband and family throughout the US. Mrs. Langley will be most remembered for her welcoming spirit and open-door policy as well as her lengthy daily phone calls. She will be greatly missed.

Wanda was a member of St. Margarets Catholic Church and where she served many years as Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years; Sherman Langley, one son; Jason Langley, brother; Ronnie Chaumont and brothers-in-law; Steven Krause, Robert Langley and Jim Langley.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; James Langley and wife Tracey of Oahu, HI, Jonathan Langley of Iowa, LA, Jennifer Behmer and husband Joe of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sisters; Donna Krause of Phoenix, AZ, and Denise Doss and husband Kenny of Phoenix, AZ; brother; Anthony Chaumont and wife Tammy of Westlake, LA; brother and sister-in-law, AJ Langley and Sharyl of Iowa, LA; sisters-in-law; Gretchen Chaumont of Iota, LA, Carolyn Langley of Moss Bluff and Judy Langley of Bakersfield, CA; daughter-in-law, Roxann Brister and husband Keith of Cary, NC and six grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass for Wanda Ann Langley will be held on Thursday 22, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will start Wednesday 21, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home. There will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow service at Consolata Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Brighton Bridge Hospice, and the staff of Grand Cove Nursing Home.

I Wil miss you my friend but glad knowing you are rejoicing in heaven with Sherman. I pray that our Lord gives the family strength and comfort in the difficult days ahead.   4. Candle 2My deepest condolences go out to the Langley family. The Landry and the Langley families have been good friends over the years. I have many good memories in my childhood and as an adult with the Langley’s in Lake Charles on Sunset Dr, at Woodbridge Center Plaza in New Jersey and Howard
    Road in Iowa. I enjoyed bringing my parents, Dan and Joyce, to Iowa to visit Wanda and Sherman. Praying for peace, knowing they are all together rejoicing in Heaven.

  5. Candle 2Wanda was a kind, generous, lovely lady. Some of our best memories are sitting around the kitchen table with her, visiting and eating delicious BBQ at the Landry’s. She will be missed. God’s comfort and healing to her family. Rest eternally, Wanda, with God and His angels and saints.

  6. Wanda was my friend through high school and beyond, we shared the same birthday and many nice times together i will so miss sending her a card on her special day. She was a good person who cared deeply for her family.

  7. My deepest condolences to Wanda’s family. She was such a good friend. She, Rose, and I would have coffee and reminence about the “old” days. She would always have a word of encouragement for us. I will miss her💔
