William Henry Triplett

William Henry Triplett, 95, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 in the comfort of his home.


Mr. Triplett was born in Houston, TX and has lived in Lake Charles since a child. During his younger years, he worked for the WPA where he was in charge of many parishes. Henry, along with his brother, Frank was owner and operator of Triplett Brothers Supermarket for 42 years. He was President of IG and for many years was the secretary. He was a member and held offices of the AARP 736, AARP 1900 and VIC. For fun, he enjoyed traveling with family, friends, AARP 736 and the Nazarene group, with whom he traveled to Europe.


Mr. Triplett was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where he was a member and formerly a greeter.


His accomplishments of the past two decades has been exploring computer technology, while in his late 80's was the oldest student at Sowela. He was successful in his efforts and enjoyed surfing the web.


Henry will be most remembered as a man of wisdom, superior mathematical skills and his quick wit.


He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Margery Ruth Hoffpauir Triplett of Lake Charles; one daughter, Dora McCall and husband James of Moss Bluff and two grandchildren, Van Miller of Lake Charles and Bohna Miller of Moss Bluff.


He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Wesley Triplett and Dora Rich Triplett; a sister Edith Smith and his twin brother, James Frank Triplett.


Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Derek Catron will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

  2. I know that Jesus will help you through your sorrows. Rest assured that Mr. Triplett is with Him. All my memories of Mr. Triplett are of a disciple of Christ, a man who did the right things, the fair things, when it was not popular to do so. He will surely receive his crown.

He loved to joke around.Always faithful to the church even when it was so hard for him to go. We'll miss him but we know that we will see him again!   5. So sorry to hear of Henry's passing. I wish I could be there for his funeral. I give thanks for his 95 years, for his sense of humor, for his faith in God, for his devotion to family, and for the good role model that he was to his family and community. I know that he and Edith, Frank Dora are enjoying a happy family reunion right now. I am grateful that I was able to see more of Henry and Frank during the past 5 years. Henry will be missed by many people, including his cousin Lucille Spiller Deitiker and her family. My prayers are with Margie, Dora Ruth and her family.
